At the heart of Aspire for Higher Basketball is the commitment to change the lives of youth through the power of sport regardless of any barriers that may be in the way. Aspire for Higher Basketball (A4H Basketball) was formed in 2013 by a young group of individuals committed to helping youth succeed through participation in sport. A4H Basketball is an organization that recognizes the lack of accessible and/or absent basketball programs within the Region of Peel and works to provide high-level services at an affordable price. In four years of operation, our summer camp program has taught, trained, and mentored over 2500 athletes with a fifth of these athletes being completely subsidized. Additionally, we are proud to have established valuable community partnerships with organizations such as The Dufferin Peel Catholic District School Board, Peel School Board, Peel Children’s Aid, Service Canada, Brampton Entrepreneur Centre, and the Provincial and Federal Governments of Canada.

Mission and Vision

To change the lives of youth through the development of sustainable and empowering sports programs.  We hope to challenge youth to reach their highest potential, through the implementation of accessible, inclusive and effective basketball programs. Our vision involves integrating the development of a myriad of life skills through the discipline of sport and incorporation of Canadian sport policy best practices. To create and implement a variety of accessible programs targeted to increase sport participation rates, promotion of mental health, and overall leadership potential of marginalized youth in the Region of Peel. We hope to utilize sports-based tools of education to create a climate and culture that promotes success as well as ensures a fun and valuable experiences that will be remembered for a lifetime.  At the foundation of our organization is our commitment to provide inclusive and accessible programs for all youth, for this reason, no child has turned away due to financial circumstances.

Message from the Founder

Basketball has opened the door for me in so many ways, and therefore I firmly believe in providing basketball opportunities for the Region of Peel.  I am a proud McGill University Martlet  (2010 - 2013) and University of Toronto Varsity Blue (2014 - 2016) alumni.  In my career at McGill, I have obtained 2 provincial championships and back to back rankings at the CIS National Championships. In my career at UofT, I was team captain,  recipient of the Ontario University Athletics (OUA) Joy Bellinger Award, and selected on the OUA all-star team.   Playing basketball at the university level allowed me to excel not only on the court but in the classroom; throughout my 5-year career, I was a CIS Academic All Canadian.  I successfully completed a Masters of Engineering from UofT and am currently working in my field as an engineer. I believe my academic success is a result of the life lessons and discipline I've learned through my participation in basketball. My love and passion for basketball can be seen through my commitment and dedication to A4H Basketball, an organization dedicated to providing elite athletic services to youth.

Our camps hope to teach and strengthen your athlete's basketball skills, while at the same time learning leadership, teamwork and goal setting skills. I have handpicked the best of the best to be part of my team, together our experiences both as successful athletes and coaches provide the needed quality of instruction for your athletes.  I am beyond excited to meet each and every athlete this summer!
