Position: Sport Camp Manager

Job Requirements:

​

  • College Diploma or University Degree in Education, Management, Communications, Arts, or any other relevant degree required

  • 4 year minimum experience of supervising part-time staff with a background in recreation and leisure, education, early childhood education, youth worker or equivalent.

  • Must hold a valid Emergency First Aid/CPR B Certification

  • Previous experience playing basketball, football and/or soccer at a competitive level is an asset

  • Previous experience working with children is an asset

  • Employment offer is conditional upon receipt of a Criminal Record Search - Vulnerable Sector Screening

Job Responsibilities:

​

  • Under the Camp Director the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations and delivery of comprehensive camp programs to meet the needs of staff and participants

  • Visit programs daily to provide direction and ongoing coaching to enhance staff’s program knowledge, teaching techniques and program planning skills

  • To provide quality customer service to all staff, parents, campers and volunteers

  • Be responsible for knowing, understanding, training, and executing all camp policies and emergency procedures associated with Aspire for Higher Basketball

  • Help with the development, distribution and promotion of up and coming programs & related marketing materials

  • Establish relationships with Community organizations specifically schools, principals, and other programs

  • Plan and conduct school sport clinics to help promote our programs

  • Assess current A4H programs and how they can and should be modified to increase participation

  • Recruiting coaches 

  • To perform other related duties as assigned​

  • Proven track record of working with people and the ability to build relationships

  • You are positive, enthusiastic and have an endless supply of energy.

  • Strengths include attention to detail, highly organized planning, problem solving and decision-making.

  • Customer service oriented and able to work independently.

  • Reliable, punctual, hard work and motivated self-starter

  • Experience working with youth in a teaching environment in a sport.

  • Knowledge and interest of basketball, football and/or soccer.

Hourly Rate: $22.00 - $26.00 based on experience 

​

Applicants MUST be available to work from May 1st- August 12th and attend 3 training dates on weekends in June.
