Position: Project Coordinator
Aspire for Higher is a not-for-profit grassroots organization founded in 2013 that provides summer camps, sports leagues, and wellness programs for youth 4 to 14 years of age. We use comprehensive sports-based programming as a vehicle to engage youth from all communities to foster their growth and development into healthy adults, community leaders, and responsible citizens.
A4H is currently hiring a project coordinator to deliver a number of youth programs in Brampton. You will work closely with the camp director, program manager, and executive director to support a variety of tasks. The responsibilities of our project coordinator will include:

Prepare quarterly and yearly project reports

Verify that all invoices are accounted for and filed correctly on a monthly basis

Recruit part-time staff for programming

Developing and delivering staff training for programming

Secure gym permits for programming

Manage budgets for programs

Ensure daily tasks are being completed and major milestones are being achieved in a timely manner

Attend and lead meetings with funders
Our project coordinator will play a key role in ensuring all programs are running seamlessly.
This individual :

Has excellent communication skills with both external stakeholders and organizational staff

Is detail-oriented with excellent proofreading skills including grammar and spelling.

Has an enthusiastic attitude and charismatic personality

Can work independently and prioritize tasks effectively to ensure the completion of work in a timely manner

Has the ability to proactively develop and maintain relationships with peers and the leadership team
What you bring to the position:
-
Completion of or pursuing a college or university degree in education, social work, sport management, recreation, early childhood education, business, or related field.

At least 2 years experience in a related position.

Familiarity with Google workspace.

Experience working with project management systems such as Asana is an asset.

Knowledge of the non-profit sector is an asset.
PAY
$18 - $20 per hour depending on experience
POSITION LENGTH & HOURS
This is a full time position with 35 hours per week from Monday - Friday. Hours will be 7:30 -4:00pm daily. Position will also require the attendance of virtual staff meetings weekly. 8 weeks full-time (July and August 2022) with the extension of part-time hours until December 31st, 2022.
