Development League Coach

Job Requirements:​

  • Working towards a Secondary School Diploma/College Diploma or University Degree or having completed a level of higher education

  • Must hold a valid Emergency First Aid/CPR B Certification

  • Previous experience working with children is required

  • Previous experience playing basketball at a competitive level is required

  • Employment offer is conditional upon receipt of a Criminal Record Search - Vulnerable Sector Screening

Job Responsibilities:​

  • Under the direction of the League Coordinator, the role requires teaching drills and evaluating players

  • Implementation of coaching methods that provide an inclusive, fun and competitive learning environment

  • Coaching athletes aged 8 - 13 years as well as mentoring younger aspiring coaching

  • To ensure the supervision of campers at all times and provide a safe and enjoyable experience by adhering to all safety and emergency procedures.

  • To provide quality customer service to athletes, volunteers and parents

  • Work both independently and in a team environment to complete assigned tasks

  • To perform other related duties as assigned
