Position: Camp Counsellor (Sports Camp)

Aspire for Higher (A4H) is a not for profit organization that uses sports as a vehicle to engage, empower, educate youth and young people across Canada. We offer a number of programs including: summer camps, leagues, Jr. NBA and much more. We are looking for a summer camp coach this summer to help us deliver a summer sports camp experience for youth in Mississauga and Brampton.

Job Requirements:

​

  • Working towards a Secondary School Diploma/College Diploma or University Degree

  • Previous experience working with children (3-5 years of age) is an asset

  • Previous experience coaching and/or teaching sports an asset

  • Employment offer is conditional upon receipt of a Criminal Record Search - Vulnerable Sector Screening

Job Responsibilities:

​

  • Under the direction of the camp director, the successful candidate is responsible to plan and implement an inclusive sports camp program that meets the needs of all participants.

  • To ensure supervision of participants at all times and provide a safe and enjoyable experience by adhering to all safety and emergency procedures.

  • To provide quality customer service to participants, volunteers and parents

  • To conduct safety checks of program equipment and facilities daily. Reporting anything that may impact the quality and safe delivery of the program in a timely manner.

  • Work both independently and in a team environment to complete assigned tasks

  • To perform other related duties as assigned

  • Proven track record of working with people and the ability to build relationships

  • You are positive, enthusiastic and have an endless supply of energy.

  • Strengths include attention to detail, organized, problem solving and decision-making.

  • Customer service oriented and able to work independently.

  • Interested in meeting new people and speaking confidently in a small group setting.

  • Reliable, punctual, hard work and motivated self-starter.

  • Knowledge and interest of sports (basketball, soccer, etc)

Hourly Rate: $15.00 - $16.00 based on experience 

​

 Hourly Rate: $15.00 - $16.00 based on experience. Camp will take place for 3 - 5 weeks in July from Monday - Friday. There will be mandatory training 1 weekend of training in June.
