Position: Business Development and Fundraising Lead

Aspire for Higher (A4H) Sports is a Black-led not-for-profit organization that uses sports as a vehicle to engage, empower and educate youth from all communities. We offer a number of recreational programs to youth as well as employment and training opportunities for young people. Our organization's mission and vision are centered around health and wellness, community, and education. 

 

We seek an experienced Business Development and Fundraising Manager to establish and maintain partnerships with the community, businesses, organizations, corporations, and governments; create and execute a fundraising plan, and prospect and cultivate potential funders. 

 

Center to your role is supporting A4H in serving our mission by developing strategies for revenue generation while also playing a key role in supporting the donor pipeline through donor research, donor stewardship, and acknowledgment.

 Responsibilities:

  • Develop strategies to increase revenue for the organization

  • Identify, cultivate and manage partnerships and collaborations with businesses, corporations, governments, municipalities, etc

  • Develop and execute a fundraising strategy and plan including community fundraising events 

  • Identify, cultivate and manage funding prospects to diversify income (corporate funding, government grants, donors, etc)

  • Identify, prepare and submit grant and funding applications

 Requirements:

  • A degree or diploma in Business, Communications, or any related field

  • 4+ years experience in fundraising and/or business development 

  • Not-for-profit sector experience in major gift fundraising from individuals, corporations, foundations, and other stakeholders

  • Strong written communication skills and experience in successful grant writing

  • Knowledge of legal regulations governing fundraising practices as they relate to not-for-profit and charitable organizations

  • Prior knowledge of Google Analytics, Asana, Google Adwords, Wix, Mailchimp, Google G-Suite, Later.com, and WordPress is an asset

  • Passion for sports, health, and wellness, and the Black Community is an asset
